ONLY Images painted BEFORE 1924 are Copyright Free!!
I heard that it was ok to show an image on your website of art that you actually own. So if you bought/already own a legally printed copy of the artwork, you would be ok to show it. I don't know if this is true, but it makes sense. Read below & our Help on "Art Images" for more info.
Top 3 Reasons Art Images cannot be Used
1) Artist is under publisher contract and so is unable to allow any other usage.
2) Artist doesn't own the copyright (most common). Was commissoned art or sold.
3) Artists are so deluged with requests that they can't verify each and so deny all.
Note: Artists often don't answer emails as its hard to explain/deny so many requests.
Our part- As explained in the Help section of the website, we are
not the copyright holder to any of the images we sell and so cannot
provide them in any digital format or give permissions for any use
no matter how large or small, non-profit or not. You must have the
copyright holder's permission to use any image in any way
other than as it is already legally sold (as an art print, etc). ONLY
images painted before 1924 are public domain and copyright free!
We do not have any copyright-free quality digital files at this time.
Please read our Help/Images section on how to research for the images and/or permissions, or visit our links page for christian websites that have images.
Note: Some websites offer "Free Use" Jesus images. I know 2 that are currently showing in the top Google results that are VERY illegal! There are more.. Beware!
